Privacy policy

This site collects very little. This page lists exactly what it collects, why, and which services process it, in the order you are likely to meet them: the contact form, the booking calendar, analytics and hosting.

Who is responsible for this website?

Your Private Dev (yourprivatedev.com) is an independent one-person engineering service. It decides why and how the personal data described on this page is used. Contact: hello@yourprivatedev.com.

What happens to what I type in the contact form?

The form asks for three things: your name, your email address and your message. When you send it, the site emails them to hello@yourprivatedev.com through Resend, an email delivery service. The email is sent from noreply@yourprivatedev.com with your address set as the reply-to, so a reply goes straight to you.

The website does not keep a copy in a database of its own. The message exists as an email in the mailbox for hello@yourprivatedev.comand with the email providers that carry it. It is used only to answer you and, if you ask for it, to scope a project. Resend's own policy is at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

What happens when I book a call?

The booking calendar on the contact page is an embed from cal.com. When you book, cal.com processes the details you enter, such as your name, email address and chosen time, under its own privacy policy at cal.com/privacy. I receive the booking details from cal.com so I can prepare for the call.

The embed is loaded from cal.com's servers when the contact page is opened, so cal.com can see technical details of that request, such as your IP address and browser, and may set its own cookies or browser storage. That is governed by its policy, not this one.

What analytics does this site use?

The site uses Umami, an analytics tool that runs on my own server at analytics.yourprivatedev.com, so no third-party analytics service receives the data. The script loads on the live site only.

Umami's documentation says its web tracker does not use cookies, and that it collects pageviews, referrer URLs, browsers, operating systems, device types and approximate location (see docs.umami.is/docs/faq). The site also records a few named events so I can see which buttons are used: clicks on “Book a 15-min call” and on the email link, and the sending of the contact form. Each event carries a label such as the part of the page it came from. None carries what you typed.

The site does not use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking.

Does the site set cookies?

The site itself sets no cookies. It saves one preference in your browser's local storage: the light or dark theme you choose with the theme switch. That value stays on your device and is not sent to me. As explained above, the cal.com embed on the contact page is a separate service with its own storage.

Where is the site hosted?

The site runs on a virtual private server that I deploy to myself. Like most web servers, the server may record standard access details (IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser) for security and troubleshooting.

Do you sell or share my data?

I do not sell personal data. The only parties that handle it are the services named on this page: Resend for the contact form email, cal.com for bookings, and the email provider that hosts the hello@yourprivatedev.com mailbox. Analytics stay on my own server.

What are my rights?

Depending on where you live, you can ask me what personal data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask for a copy, or object to how it is used. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these, email hello@yourprivatedev.com. I reply within one business day.

When was this page last changed?

This page was last updated on 29 October 2026. If what the site does with personal data changes, this page changes with it.
